Sunny 70s will give way to bands of increasing mid/high level clouds – and eventually we’re expecting some showers and cooler temps beginning Tuesday.
This system will be spinning in with some pretty chilly air aloft – that combined with a fairly mild/warm airmass below (esp. if we manage sunny breaks during the day on Tuesday) could set up for some rather interesting conditions on Tuesday.
Depending on where the low center tracks — upper level wind fields will be favorable for thunder – especially over the Santa Clara Valley into the Central Valley. Up-valley wind flow pattern combined with directional/speed shear aloft may allow for some rotating storms – borderline severe – again those areas will likely be confined to the central and southern half of the San Joaquin Valley but bears some attention.
Another colder system drops in for Thursday – and appears to form another cut-off low (! ugh!) that will track into Southern California by Thursday night. Easter Weekend for now – is looking dry and slightly warmer – overall not bad timing!
